May 2002 I just don't believe how long this is taking, It's a good job I didn't need the car for work the following day! Anyway what have I done… well I've just finished the centre of the bulkhead off where the heater used to live. I've refitted all the sills and the Checker plate ally panels that go over them. I've Sorted out the horn after much head scratching and resorting to alt.fan.landrover  yet again for assistance.. Errr.. Oh yes the electric fans are fully functional with a switch mounted into the radiator and a manual over-ride switch on the dashboard. I even fitted the mud flaps as well! I've started to rub down and prep the bodywork for a repaint whilst thinking through the remaining bits. Time yet again has been at a premium as were looking to move to a bigger garage (with a house as well ;-)  ) so I've even been disposing of bits which really goes against tradition. I can actually walk all the way around Percy again in the garage! Hopefully we have found a house having been gazumped and had others fall through, I didn't realize just how stressful it all is. Anyway how much longer I hear you ask! Well on the jobs to do list are the following… Screw in washer bottle and Plumb in. Sort minor brackets to attached centre bulkhead to the centre tunnel. Replace seats with original Land rover ones - they just aren't comfortable which I never thought I'd say! Decide what to do about the bonnet I.e. 90 or bridge the gap with Checker plate not that it really matters.. Sort front bumper paint front half of the chassis. Fasten up pipe work to the chassis such as Petrol and brakes to prevent any chaffing and that at the moment seems to be about the size of it all. Not much work left! I've included some pictures as you'll see of the engine in place with most of the ancillaries fitted. The Photos below give an idea of the room for the fit. The battery tray has been refitted in it's original location. You'll see Range rover expansion tank and a Sierra electronic ignition module (draped over the battery). The bottom picture is from our scanner and not our digital camera hence the better quality. Will soon have more pictures available of the project and update the site somewhat.
