Ok. Its June the 22nd things are continuing at a slow pace but from past experience I know too well that you can't rush a good job. The Front panel has now been modified.. basically I have cut off all the metal work where the old radiator used to fasten. I just need to fix up some brackets to mount it to the wings in it's new position.

As you can see the space between the front cross member and crank pulley is very tight, so much so that if the engine is ever going to come out then the bulkhead will require removal. However there is the option of removal of the front cross member, installation of power steering form a Rangie or 90 and relocation of the cross member underneath the radiator. The Radiator will be fitted a lot further forward than previously, almost flush with the front of the wings. At present there is just enough space to fit a fan belt through.

I've also sorted out what I'm doing with the props. The rear one need shortening by about 4 inches and like wise the front prop needs lengthening by about 4 inches. The rear prop was ok. so I'll just get that shortened first. Toby has bought the old Jag propshaft around which has the same ends and although it's two props in one with a center bearing the part which has the telescopic end will shorten to make my new front prop as a one piece item. Anyone else considering such a conversion may like to bear in mind the 6 cylinder front props will also be about the right length but like the proverbial rocking horse droppings to get hold of.

I've spent a morning cutting parts of old metal drawers as used in offices to form the footwell areas which meet the center tunnel. Last night was spent in a similar fashion making the replacement panel for the bulkhead where the heater will fasten up. This metal is nice and thick and has 90 degree folds in the corners which have been used to form my required corners..... very tidy!

Inside the Landie I only have the drivers side footwell to center tunnel panel to make up now and then some chopping of the old center tunnel to make it fit between the bulkhead and the seat box once fitted in.

The Wings have been fitted up for a short while so that I can sort out the Radiator fixings. The Jaguar radiator actually fits between the wings alright. The old metal plate which was fitted on the jag across the top of the radiator will also come in handy to make it's new fixing for the top at least. There is a slight bulge on the passenger side of the radiator  where a temp sensor comes out . This is going to require a small indent putting in the wing to accommodate this. An assortment of flexible pipes will be purchased after pay day for the plumbing but I now know what goes where which is a distinct advantage.

Toby has also bought a petrol pump around which was fitted to his range rover before it became a Landrover diesel hybrid and thus having no purpose in life. A quick check on the battery shows it still has the will to live so it will be fitted shortly once I work out which pipes on the carb are input and output. I also need to acquire a petrol tank junction for the return feed pipe.

Still plenty to do. The Gearbox is still here from the IIa for sale although I have to say I haven't advertised it for a while so I'll give that a go again. I've worked out what pipes I'll need for the exhaust so that will soon be underway to.

In the mean time it's back to the metal work and finishing off this center tunnel. Then I can mount the gear selector. .... soon be looking towards firing up the old tub which will be nice! I wonder what it'll sound like ?
