This is the homepage of PostModernist, a chess program by Andrew Williams. PostModernist runs under Linux and Windows. You can download the Windows version of PostModernist from this page. The Linux version is not available. You can also download a large opening book for PostModernist. Finally, I have provided a link so that you can have a look at the README file which comes with the download. PostModernist does not have its own interface. In order to play with it, you will need to download WinBoard from Tim Mann's site.
pm1016.zip
This is the latest version of PostModernist. When you unzip it, it
will create a directory called postmodernist. Amongst other files,
you will find README.txt, which tells you how to set up the program
(also available for viewing below). Please note that this version
of PostModernist will not work with big book files which were
available with version 1006 or earlier. If you are upgrading from
v1006 or earlier, you must download the new big book file.
book.zip
This is PostModernist's big
book file. It is about 7MB as a zip file, and 16MB when it is
unzipped. The one provided with the actual program is empty, so
you'll want to download this one if you want to play serious games.
At the moment, it's not possible to create a big book with the
Windows version of PostModernist.
