Style

From the drop down menu choose from several preset matte styles.

  • Drop Shadow
  • This produces a matte with a raised picture with drop shadow attached.
  • Cut Bevel
  • This produces a matte with a more traditional 45 degree bevel cut. Colours other than white suit this matte.
  • Overlay
  • This doesn't produce a matte as such. It uses the outer edge of the photo, desaturates it, and overlays it. You can select the amount of opacity to allow as much colour to show through as required. This works well with certain photo's.
  • Double Matte
  • Produces a simple double matte.
  • Double Stroke
  • Produces a two line stroke border around your photo.
  • Window Pane
  • Produces a matte with several cutouts similar to a window. You enter the number of panes for the columns and rows and spacing .
  • If you specify a bevel of zero the script will calculate the best size for you. You can override this by entering a bevel size of more
  • than zero and less than the maxium.
  • Faded Edge
  • Fades the edge of your picture into a white matte.
  • Oval
  • Produces an oval matte.
  • Stroke Matte
  • Produces a single line a selectable distance from your picture. Can also add a stroke to the edge of the picture if required.

When selected all the different matte styles open option windows for the particular style.

Most of the options are straight forward. Just experiment and enjoy.

Miscellaneous Options

Flatten Layers

Choose whether to flatten image after processing.

DPI

Select this option to change the DPI of your photo from the dropdpwn box.

sRGB

Convert to sRGB profile.

Use saved colors

Whenever you save a config for this script, the foreground/background colours selected in Photoshop at the time are saved with it. If this option is selected, each time the config is run, it will use those saved colours rather than anything that may be set in Photoshop. If it is not selected, each time it is run, it will use the colours specified in Photoshop.

Use copyright from document property as signature. (if it exists)

Use the copyright in the document info if one exists, or the supplied one in the signature field if not.

Use title from document property. (if it exists)

Use the title in the document info for the caption, if one exists, or the supplied one in the title field if not.

Use this config / Save / Load / Last Used / Save Default

The "Use this config" must be used before you run the script in Photoshop. It saves the current config settings to a file the script then uses. The script will always use these settings until you change them by clicking "Use this config" again. If you make any changes to the options, including loading a config or clicking the "Last Used" button, these will not come into use until you click "Use this config". The script will then keep on using these setting until you change them.

When you run the script it will load the default values from a text file. These are preset from the start. If you want to make alterations to the default, then run the script, change any options you want to, signature etc, then click on the "Save Default" button. Then each time you run the script it will load your defaults.

You can also set up the options in the script for various situations and save as many different configs as needed. Just set up the options and click Save. Remember to name them so you will remember what they are and always add the .txt extension to the end.

e.g.

Red Frame.txt

Myframe.txt

Holidaypics.txt

You can then load any of the extra configs you save by clicking the Load button and selecting the one you want.

The Last Used button will load the settings used when the script was last run.
