Why have ANY more than 2 consecutive games?

Its because venues have more than one team. IF all venues had one team, there would only be 2 (possibly 3 because of the 1/2 season cross-over) consecutive games.

WHY are we playing so many consecutive games away, or HOME.

Even from my OWN team from my own team I get asked this. When I do fixtures, I count every team and I get the best combination I can. For Example, season 2002 I think it was about 4 or 5 consecutive games for any one team.

If anybody wants to try and better this for next seasons fixtures, you are MORE than welcome to. Funnily enough, nobody ever takes me up on this. If you do, give it to me in simple text or Excel format would be fine.

I only go by League fixtures, as Team K/O's and replays are out of my control, as they are random.

Can I get on your email list?

Almost certainly, I would love EVERY body to be on my email list. This will be at my discretion of course, as I would like a favour in return and that is that at least ONE team member prints out a copy and pins it up at their venue by Sunday night. There are ONLY THREE venues not on my list: Feathers, Falcon and the Splitz.

Being on my email list saves the league money and me time. MORE time for me to make this site better with as much information as possible. I supply the paper and ink. I once claimed for some ink, a few years back. I do NOT do this from work. ( a school!)

What advantages are there to be you email list? Updated 28/5/03

1. Speed! I often try and send out the same night I do the results, i.e. Tuesday! Normal delivery is 'before or on Sunday night' is all I will commit myself to. (2nd class post is what I tend to do)

2. Often I will do players leagues and this will ALWAYS get emailed, where there is no promise in normal delivery.

3. If there is a problem, I will contact you via this method, the only other method would be the league sheet! Problems such as: unregistered players, lost score sheets, etc.

4. Ahh yes, it will make my job a little easier.

I don't want everybody to know my email address, can this be stopped?

Yes, I purposely send via 'BCC', this HIDES all email address's from others. My main reason for this is to stop somebody 'reply all', sending EVERYBODY unnecessary emails. If anybody wanted an email address from players in their own team, I have no problem giving this out. Otherwise email address's are confidential and not even other committee members get access to them.

How much are the fees?

At the start of the 2002 season, modified in 2007:

Transfer fees are £5.
Team registration fees for 'unlimited players' is £70, this includes competition entry is included. BUT it is reduced if paid by the 'fee night', which is at a meeting closely after the AGM.
How do I work out the league results?
My old system was a database program called 'Dataease V4.5' and used this this I started as results secretary. This was a DOS based program. Since last season 2002, I started using Access and found things much easier to export to Word or for the WEB site. Dataease had some size limitations, but I have not found this problem with Access. My PC is an Intel duo, using RAID! The player results are also worked out using Access. Fixtures are worked out using my own program, using 'Delphi'.
How can I check if a player of ours is registered to play?
You can check via 'players by team', if they are on this list, they are registered. I may not update this as regularly as 'Players Div 1 (or 2)'

NOTE:

A player is NOT officially registered until he has PLAYED for the team. e.g. doubles, singles or Team K/O. Until that point he is entitled to play for any other team. If he them chooses to play for the original team, then a transfer fee will be required.

Why is one of our players not shown as registered?
I normally pick up all players who play in the league SINGLES only!
So, I can easily miss players in competitions and who play doubles, so it is the captains/ teams responsibility to make sure that I KNOW by entering on the score sheet by
high-lighting players in these 2 categories. Note: I do not ALWAYs get a competition sheet.

I always seem to print out the menu, instead of the league table, How?

There are 2 ways, the best: Right click on the league table itself and select 'print'.

OR: Move mouse over the 'League Table', then 'right click' the mouse and select 'open link in new window', then print it!

How can some player scores be higher than games they play? Added 23/2/05

Some times teams drop out of the league. Team scores are deducted for the whole season, but not player scores. This doesn't usually cause any problems. I publish the games so nobody can accuse me of fiddling!

My starting point is, it is more personal!
When a team is short, which reguarly happens, it is always the last player (or so!) who fails to get a game, this is bad enough! So, he gets the win, right or wrong?! It is bad enough not getting a game and to get no record of it too! The point goes to the team, so why not the player. Then the complications start....

If a player has played and won, it should stay on his record, likewise a lose should count too! This is consistent with wins awarded when teams dont have a full squad, some players are awarded the win! It would be unfair NOT to!

Extra games cant allow the players to benefit from game that others are not allowed to play.
If needed, cant be taken into account at the end of the season (for most consistent player of the year!). If you look at 'players by team and 'League table (all)' then all can be clear (I hope!).
