26th February 2006 - the canal

[Image: Winter.] Having decided to take out the concrete foundation of the wall I was suprised to find a canal where I wanted to erect a fence.

How the concrete is being broken up - by hand. The guide to hold the bar means its a single man job and no risk of hitting the holding hand.

Drinking tea is a fine past time.

In my opinion rails need fishplates and fish plates need bolts. Bolts need holes and holes need to be drilled. Drills need to be turned, turning need motors, motors need protecting from the rain. The motor is IP44 but need to be IP55. Leylandi trees are very dry inside and with an RCD kept the mote dry. Therefore a Leylandi tree is IP11.

At last we are moving to lay the nextlength at the front to get the material for the back to fill in the canal.
