28th December 2005 - its really nice to work in the snow

[Image: Winter.] Its Christmas but nothing is simple here - an old tree with dowling branches and matchstick needles. The wall is down but to get the posts in the old concrete foundation is in the way. It takes ages to dig out enough for each post so we decide to take all the foundation out. This is not an easy task but will mean that we can plant a hedge at a later date should that be approved of by all parties. Snow makes the garden look wonderful.

Blinded by the flash light.

How the concrete is being broken up - all by hand. Doing things the obvious easy way is not part of my approah to life at present.

David with another piece of concrete.

Men with rocks.

Rails in the snow.

Snow in the sky - you can tell that the pictures are taken by an art student.
Working in the cold is strange as all your sweat ends up condensed on the outside of the outer clothing so its like coming in from being out in the rain even when its dry.
Feet of the photographer, its a nice blue colour so has to be included.
View from the lounge.
It is impossible to make a snow man as its too cold!
