This is the start and end of the line with the water and coal. |
Its wet under foot so its boards under foot where ever possible so work can continues. The engine controls are covered in mud and earth is falling down all the gaps in the foot plate. Having loaded we are off (Arial picture shot from the bathroom) |
Put the soil at the end of the rainbow! The arial view (back bedroom this time) shows the works - a station for the laydown area soil deposit. The wood was used for he station and the plank to gain access as the weather was so wet. |
The soil is used to make a bank to hide the rubble behind. Its all rather hard work even though lifting each tubs of soil is not too heavy. The return trip includes working flat out going up the bank and curve where the Laurel used to be. |
A close up of Pearl - looks great and sounds great. Its actually really clever as the front is a single piece aluminium casting held on by a small grub screw! It definely looks the part. The PNP track can be seen clearly - its a plastic sleeper and chair. I am an arm chair engineer and want the track to last for sometime with minimal maitenance. The rail is 30mmx12mm imported from Leeds by a friendly local steel stockist. It completely over the top for a small railway but when the concrete wall fell down the track did not notice. The support for the track is terrible but the rail is so strong it accommodates my lack of finess. |
