- 1784 census of the Second Coast of the Germans: Jacques Lesh, Marie Periou, 1 son, 1 daughter.  They lived in St. John the Baptist parish (near Laplace) in the area of Sunnyside Plantation, with his brother Michel's family, their father, and next door to his sister.

- 26 October 1804: Bought an unskilled slave (20) for $450. 

- 26 January 1808: Testament of Nicolas Haite: "Because of the care which Jacques Leche afforded him for nearly 12 years while Haite lived with him, Leche was bequeathed $300, $50 to his wife because of her kindness to him, especially when he was sick, a small chest to Genevieve and his tester bed to Marie Therese.”

- 12 March 1810: Bought a slave Commena (18) for $765.

- 1810 St. John census (east bank):  Jacques Lecher, males 1(0-10), 5(11-16), 1(45+); females 2(0-10), 1(11-16), 1(45+); 1 slave.  [Jacques 52, 2nd wife Marguerite 41, Celestine 13, Jacques 11, Madeleine 6, Antoine 4, Marguerite 2]

 

- #9: Jacques Leische claimed a tract of land, east bank of the Mississippi, on the German Coast, 5 arpents in front, and 40 in depth; bounded upstream by Francisco Leische, and downstream by Miguel Leische.  This land was surveyed by Don Carlos Trudeau, in 1785, for him and he inhabited and cultivated from then until on and after the 20th December, 1803.  Confirmed.
