- According to his son’s obituary (Lewis Johnson), Peter Johnson was “'the owner and captain of a sailing vessel which plied the Gulf of Mexico between New Orleans and Tampico, Mexico.”           

- The births of Lewis & Malvina were registered on 6 October 1845, by Mr. Jacob Shultz, native Prussia, aged 39, residing on Greatman St. between Elysian Fields & Marigny St. (3rd Municipality), listing the parents as ‘Peter Johnson, native of Germany, aged about 40, & Charlotte Hoffman.’  (vol. 7, p. 809)    At the same time Jacob Shultz also registered the birth of Andrew James Saul (born 7 February 1844 at the house of his parents situated on Spain Street between Greatmen and Craps Streets in the 3rd municipality), legitimate issue of Henry Saul and of Charlotte Hoffman a native of this city.
