79, Dies after Short Illness: Ellenburg Centre: John E. Peets, 79, died
Wednesday at his home after a short illness. A farmer for many years, he
was born June 6, 1883, in Chateaugay, the son of Henry and Nancy Peets.
He is survived by his wife Nina, a daughter, Mrs. Mary Murphy of
Plattsburgh; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Senecal of Ellenburg Center. The
body is at the Drown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 9
a.m. at St. Edmond’s Church in Ellenburg. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.
On his WWI registration John Ernest is described as medium height, medium build with brown eyes and brown hair.

Obituary: Plattsburgh Press-Republican, Wednesday, 4 May 1977: ELLENBURG CENTER — Mrs. Mina Peets, 91, died Tuesday in the Sacred Heart Nursing Home at Plattsburgh. She was born Aug. 24, 1885, the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Boyer) Santos. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Raphael Mary Murphy of Plattsburgh; a sister, Mrs. Clare Anngotta of Johnson City; a grandson and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Drown Funeral home in Ellenburg Depot. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
