Obituary: Massena Observer: F. Lashomb Passes Away: Winthrop – Funeral
services were conducted at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at 218 Hamilton St.,
Ogdensburg, for Franklin Lashomb, 82, who passed away in Sherburne, N.Y.
at the home of his son, Harlow Lashomb, Sunday, Dec. 30, 1951. The Rev.
Clyde V. Sparling, pastor of the Ogdensburg Methodist Church, conducted the
service. Burial was made in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Buckton, Robert
P. Luther was funeral director. Mr. Lashomb, a farmer, was born on Maple Ridge,
Brasher, one of seven children of John and Sophia Thomas Lashomb. He
married Miss Sarah Perrault, daughter of Edward and Henrietta
Archambault Perrault of Winthrop. She passed away March 28, 1941. Nine
children were born to the couple. Mrs. Henry (Lila) Van Tassel died
Sept. 21, 1948; Mrs. Deforest (Nora) Tower passed away in Parishville,
April 15, 1940. Surviving are one brother, Charles Lashomb, Watertown;
two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Helen) LaVack, Springfield, Mass., and Mrs.
Joseph (Cora) Mousaw, Union Springs; also three daughters, Mrs. Bell,
Ogdensburg, Mrs. Donald (Maefred, R.N.) Veitch, Ogdensburg, Mrs.
Michael (Muriel, R.N.) Yurch, Brooklyn; four sons, Harlow, Sherburne,
Seward, Mineville, Kenneth, Nicholville, and Donald Lashomb,
Baltimore, Md. There are also several grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews. Following the death of his wife, Mr. Lashomb resided in the
Wilbur White home in Winthrop for several years, later going to Sherburne to
live with Mr. And Mrs. Harlow Lashomb and family, where he passed away.
Ogdensburg Advance, Sunday 6 January 1952: December 31st: Franklin T. Lashomb. father of Mrs. Newell Bell of this city, died in his sleep Sunday morning at the home of his son, Harlan W. Lashomb, in Sherburne. In his late 80’s, Mr. Lashomb had been in ill health for some time. Funeral services will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bell, 516 Hamilton Street, Ogdensburg, Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be in the Buckton cemetery.
Courier & Freeman, Thursday 17 January 1952: Frank LaShomb Funeral Held in Ogdensburg Home: Lawrenceville—Mr. and Mrs. Herchel Hazen attended the funeral of Mrs. Hazen's brother-in-law, Frank LaShomb at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Newell Bell, in Ogdensburg, Jan. 3. Services were conducted by the Rev. Clyde V. Sparling of the Methodist Church and burial was in Union Cemetery at Buckton.
Mr. Lashomb had been living with his son, Harlow LaShomb, in Sherburn.

Obituary: Courier & Freeman, Potsdam, 2 April 1941: Mrs. Sarah Perault Lashomb, 59, wife of Frank Lashomb of Winthrop R. F. D., passed away at her home Friday evening, March 28, at 7 o'clock. She was born Nov. 10, 1881 in Canada, one of ten children of Mrs. Henrietta Archambult Perault of Ogdensburg and the late Edward Perault. She married Mr. Lashomb of Winthrop about 40 years ago, and nine children were born to them. A daughter, Nora, Mrs. Deforest Tower, passed away April 15, 1940. Mrs. Lashomb had been ill for the past month, but passed away suddenly. Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, and four sons; Mrs. Henry (Lila) Van Tassel, Winthrop; Mrs. Newell H. (Henrietta) Bell, Ogdensburg; Mrs. Donald (Mayfred) Veitch, Orangeburg; Miss Muriel Lashomb, R.N., at Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn; Seward Lashomb, Lake Placid; Harlow Lashomb, Winthrop R.F.D., and Kenneth and Donald in the home. She is also survived by two sisters, and five brothers, Mrs. William (Hazel) Fayette, Ogdensburg; Mrs. Herschel (Lillian) Hazen, Lawrenceville; William Perault, Louisville; William Perault, Louisville Landing; Clarence N. Perault, Buck’s Bridge; Harry Perault, Lawrenceville; Theodore Perault, Carthage; Thornton Perault, Canton, and nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. A prayer service was held at the home at 1:30 o’clock Monday with funeral service at the Buckton Methodist church at 2 o’clock, Rev. Francis E. Lean officiating. Interment was made in Union cemetery at Buckton.

Courier & Freeman, 22 September 1948 - Potsdam woman fatally injured - Mrs.
Lila Lashomb Van Tassel, 49, wife of Harry Van Tassel, 50, of Potsdam
died at 7:30 Tuesday morning of injuries suffered Monday when the ear in which
she was riding plunged down an embankment near Glens Falls. Her husband
was reported in fair condition at the hospital. The car left the highway
near North River in northern Warren county and rolled down the embankment for 30
feet, coming to a stop about ten feet short of the Hudson river.
Denora Lashomb: Courier & Freeman, Potsdam, 24 April 1940: Buckton, April 21. — Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Wednesday, April 17, by Rev. F. E. Lean for Mrs. Denorah Lashomb Tower, 33, wife of Deforest Tower, Parishville. Mrs. Tower, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lashomb, passed away at her home in Parishville Monday after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, two children: Janice 6, Jack 5; her parents; four sisters, Mrs. Lila Van Tassel, Mrs. Mayfred Veitch, Mrs. Henrietta Bell and Miss Muriel Lashomb; four brothers, Harlow, Seward, Donald and Kenneth.
