Paul was born in 1957
and has been painting since he was at school. Initially starting out
painting Airfix models Paul soon realised that it was the artwork
itself on the boxes that he was really captivated by so he soon
progressed to painting first with water colours and then on canvas
with acrylics, improving his techniques with each new painting.
He has sold his original paintings to family and friends and has
been commissioned to paint a wide variety of subjects, for example -
pets, treasured cars and aircraft.
3 years ago Paul discovered the challenging and exciting new medium
of digital, or computer, art and has since then relished the
challenge of transferring his existing skills across to this
exciting new creative environment, using completely new sets of
tools.
Paul's interest in photo restoration was born when a work colleague
asked if he could do anything with a photo of his brother, who had
recently died. Paul rose to the challenge and restored the picture
back to as near the original as possible. The colleague was so
impressed with the standard and quality of the restoration that he
showed to everyone at work and Paul has subsequently received many
more pictures for restoration.
This first picture (the before and after) can be seen in the
Photo
Restoration section of this site and although Paul loves the
challenge of restoring old photographs he says it will never replace
his first love, that of producing a picture from a blank canvas |
