| The Co-op man (Mr Isaac Hookman, known as "Ike") delivering bread on the end of a pole to a woman upstairs. This was North Road on August 27th 1912. The three cottages have since been demolished. It has been suggested that this photo may have been deliberately staged for the camera, as, with people paddling about, the pole doesn't really seem all that necessary! |
