The
West Kent Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association has the sole aim of serving all those in the area who are affected by
Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This includes people with MND, their carers, family and friends.
MND is an incurable condition that paralyses
the muscles leaving people unable to do the everyday things the rest of us take for granted. Walking, talking and swallowing may become
virtually impossible, yet the mind and senses remain intact.
We liaise with health and social care professionals such as Speech Therapists,
Occupational Therapists and the Medical Profession.
Our Branch holds regular support meetings for people living with MND and their
carers. These provide an opportunity to meet with other people living with the disease, and to share experiences and ideas.
Fundraising
and raising awareness are also very important aspects of Branch activities, and we organise several events throughout the year which
are well supported.
West Kent Branch is completely run by volunteers. We are always interested in hearing from people who can help
with events or who want to get involved with running the Branch.

information regarding the disease, care and research, please visit the National Office website at
