HEANOR TOWN 2 v 0 PINXTON

Backs to the wall for Pinxton

Click for Pictures

Disappointment for Pinxton as they are far from safety from relegation, and looked at this game to get at least a point after their improved form of late, but with only the manager [Tim Graney] for a substitute, and on the half hour mark, Darren Bettison limped off, which left the team without a manager and Joey MaCormack the Pinxton keeper upfront as a striker.

The game wasn’t a classic and at half time Heanor replaced 3 players which did kick start them somewhat, 2 goals in 4 minutes  from Jordan Leeming 66, and Danny Roberts 70, both substitutes scored the goals and Pinxton where left licking their wounds.

GEDLING M.W 0 v 0 PINXTON

Valuable Point for Pinxton

Quality football match that didn’t produce any goals for only the second time this season for Pinxton.

The contest wasn’t a bore draw as Pinxton found the target on several occasions but Scott Miles saved Gedling’s blushers with several great saves. Downing, Cook, Thomas, Debrouwer, Renshaw and Robinson all denied, but at the end of the day this was a valuably point for Pinxton which could be the point that’s keeps them out of the relegation places at the end of the season. Frazer Thomas, Pinxton’s new signing from Arnold Town picked up the man of the match award on his debut and could prove to Pinxton’s best signings of the season.

Pinxton throw 2 Goal Start Away to Grimsby

Pinxton 2 goals up 23 minutes into the game and should have had a penalty when Mark Downing was dragged to the ground inside the 18 yard box, just as he was about to shoot on goal, but the ref just waved play on, that gave Grimsby  the inspiration to get motivated and lost Pinxton’s impetus. Grimsby’s Lee Stephenson took full advantage with goals on 28 and just before the interval, and John Taylor with a couple of penalties to send Grimsby in at half time 4-2 up.

Pinxton’s first goal came from a brilliant Kieran Debrouwer run from midfield, his pass to Daniel Marriott wide on the left was crossed into the path of the waiting Mark Downing to score from 8 yard. Pinxton’s second came from a brilliant dummy from Kenny Shinfield to let the ball roll to the on running Darren Bettison at the edge of the 18 yard box straight in front of goal, Bettison hit a precise powerful strike right into the bottom left hand side of the Grimsby goal.

After the break Nathan Ireland takes Grimsby’s goal tally to five to make Pinxton’s task unreachable on 49.

Pinxton did pull another goal back thanks to a diagonal 40 yard cross from Mark Downing to the back post for Kenny Shinfield to head home from 8 yard; Pinxton started so brightly and looked on course to collect all 3 points after a super midweek win of local rivals Blackwell.

Pinxton Win Local Derby

This local Derby never lets you down, the ref turned up at 8.10pm so the kick off was 8.20pm, but it was worth waiting for with 6 brilliant goals in a thrilling contest.

Wayne Cook threatened as early as 5 minutes into the game when he rattled the bar from 18 yard.

Daniel Marriott started and finished the scoring for Pinxton on 20 and 50 minutes, Mark Downing netted on 34 not to be out done, but the best goal was by Wayne Cook on 36 thanks to Kieran Debrouwer who picked up the man of the match award. Pinxton played really well and on this form should stay out of the relegation zone, stark difference from the weekend contest, but it was well done Pinxton to a man for showing they can play really well after a disappointing run of results.

Hands up to Rolls Royce in this vital game at the foot of the table, If Pinxton won this game they looked pretty safe from falling into the relegation zone, But Pinxton couldn’t even last 6 minutes before Rolls Royce scored courtesy of Carl Spencer, Rolls Royce wanted the win more than Pinxton. This result means Pinxton are level with Rolls Royce, just 3rd from bottom in the league and must find something from Grimsby Borough this Saturday.

Pinxton are at home this Saturday to Grimsby Borough with a 3pm kick off.

Pinxton with a nightmare first half; Southwell with the wind thumped 5 past Pinxton in 38 minutes, scorers, Pembleton 12, Johnson 23,29, Marshall, Kettle 39, The second half was a different matter with Pinxton scoring the only goal of the second half courtesy of Jamie Renshaw, Pinxton’s best and only moment of the game; a blinding strike from 25 yard just inside the right post leaving Stauope no chance, and delivering Pinxton with a consolation.

Pinxton did well to take anything away from Mullsanne Park after Nettleham scored on the stroke of half time, the ball was just lobbed high into the wind, Steve Turner quick to realize the Pinxton keeper wasn’t coming out for it and ran on to head home before the ball had time to bounce.

The game was so tight between these two sides that it took 2 inspired substitutions on 75 and 78 to change the game for Pinxton and unlock the Nettleham defense, Darren Bettison playing with a broken toe and Lee Carlisle respectively, The goal on 81 was made by Darren Bettison with a shot from 18 yard, the ball fell to Daniel Marriott who passed the feet of Wayne Cook 12 yard out in front of goal, Cook’s shot into the left of goal left the keeper no chance to level the score. Joe Wilkinson, Pinxton’s right back got  the Man of the match ward after a good performance after coming back into favour with Tim Graney the Pinxton manager

Pinxton so flat after the midweek Semi Final defeat they couldn’t muster a shot on goal.

But don’t let that take anything away from a delighted Greenwood Meadows side that has done the double over Pinxton, Mark Spencer as early as the 6th minute, then they worked their socks off to secure the win on 79 courtesy of Jordan Blair.

                                                                                                                                                Haslam1, Renshaw 57        Upton 33,83. Norwood 120

Unlucky Pinxton

Pinxton so close to reaching the final but John Upton goal on 83 spoilt the Pinxton celebration.

Such a good start for Pinxton when Garren Haslam opened the score in the 1st minute with such a brilliant goal from nothing, the ball landed at his feet at the edge of the 18 yard box wear Haslam just fired the ball spinning right into the top right hand corner. Upton replied on 33 with a fine individual effort to take the contest in at the interval level.

Pinxton playing so well when Jamie Renshaw produced the goal of the year, his run started from his left back position, Renshaw ran with a determination to the half way line and passed the ball to Darren Bettison, Renshaw carried his run heading for goal, Bettison returned the perfect defense spitting ball which left Renshaw the job of finishing what he started, Renshaw took just one touch to his right and stroked the ball into the bottom right hand corner on 57.

Pinxton just about home and dry when Upton scored his second of the night to take the Semi Final into extra time.

Disaster at the start of extra time when Aden Flint picked up his second caution of the night to leave Pinxton with 10 men for the rest of the game, Pinxton battled bravely but on the 120th minute from the corner Darren Norwood headed home from 8 yard to literally steel the match from under Pinxton’s nose. Pinxton to a man worked there socks off, the manager Tim Graney said after the game, that every player can hold their head high, everything that could go wrong for Pinxton went wrong but we stuck at the task and nearly got what we disserved, Pinxton lost Gay Mayhew in the 40th minute, two 8 yard efforts from crosses scuffed over the bar from Cook & Marriott, Aden Flint collected 2 cautions which left Pinxton with 10 men with all the extra time to play,

APPLEBY FROD 1 V 3 PINXTON

Daniel Marriott Brace for Pinxton

Kieran Debrouwer’s first goal since November and a Daniel Marriott brace was enough to take all 3 points away from Brumby Hall.

Appleby Frodingham didn’t have the best of starts when Kieran Blackwell brought down Pinxton’s Daniel Marriott inside his penalty area which left them with 10 men as early as the 25th minute, Marriott then took the penalty only to see the ball go wide of the left goal post. Simon Welton, Appleby’s left back went in goal and stopped shot after shot to earn him the man of the match for Appleby.

It took Kieran Debrouwer on 49 to open Pinxton’s account, it was made by Mark Downing wide on the right wing, the cross was met by Debrouwer around the penalty spot to settle the nerves.

Appleby didn’t have to wait long before they equalized thanks to a Lee Everett penalty kick on 54.

Daniel Marriott got his brace of goals on 71 and 86 to send Pinxton home with all 3 points.

Pinxton are at home this Saturday to Greenwood Meadows in the League 3pm kick off.
