Philip Barker
University of Teesside
Philip Barker is Professor of Applied Computing within the School of Computing and
Mathematics at the University of Teesside. His main research interests are in the area of
Human-Computer Interaction and its applications to the problems of technology utilisation
within the context of teaching and learning activities in both academic and non-academic
environments.
Professor Barker is editor of the journal 'Innovations in Education and Training
International', associate editor of ALT-J and European editor of the 'Journal of
Interactive Learning Research'. He is a contibuting editor for 'Educational Technology
Review' and is on the editorial boards of 'The Electronic Library' and the 'International
Journal of Human-Computer Studies'.
Philip is an active member of the Computer-Based Learning in Science group (CBLIS) and is
responsible for developing, coordinating and maintaining the CBLIS Web site.
He is also a Principal Researcher within the
Interactive Systems Research Group at the
University of Teesside.
