- Upgrade the headlight bulb - Osram Nightbreaker is a popular option, others include Phillips and Ring
NT700

DIY modifications
- Drop the yokes 9mm down the front forks (for the vertically challenged)
- Extend the rear mudguard at the front to protect the lower rear suspension mount
- Replace a rotting or bashed exhaust system with an aftermarket one - Motad or Predator the most common choice
- Upgrade the battery to a YTZ14S from Varta or Yausa
- Fit power sockets for those essential accessories
- Fit washable air filter - K & N the most popular choice
- Replace faulty fuel pump using Facet alternative
- Drain & replace front fork oil using slightly heavier weight oil exactly measured
- Fit Trailer towing hook - for those that tour with the kitchen sink
