Photo’s of a midi Pianola workings.

The mechanism in its individual components before final assembly.
The punch board being to the front followed by the midi interface. (This is were the roll mechanism would have been.) next is the valve assembly followed by the 88 pneumatic motors.

One must mount the vacuum unit out side the working environment.
(This helps one to hear any leaks and movement in the valve under test).
Buy putting the vacuum hose over any of the valves that needs to be tested and switching on the vacuum, the valve under test should fully close with no leaks and should not make any pneumatic motors move at all.

This is where I made an attachment to fit on the end of the vacuum pipe.
