  World Mission Conference, 6 - 8 June 2008

at: The Hayes, Swanwick

When South Africa was given freedom, people talked about reconstructing their country. When the Tsumami came in South and South East Asia, governments and communities debated how to reconstruct the lives of affected people.

Reconstruction is an essential process through which people can rebuild new communities, new ways of life and new relationships among themselves. In a context where conflicts exist, where disaster is a reality and where oppression and exploitation are part of structures and relationships between communities and individuals, we ask the question 'Can reconstruction be a method of mission in God's world?'

Speakers include:

Dr Philomena Mwaura, President, International Association for Mission Studies.

The Revd Dr Carlos Emilio Ham, World Council of Churches Programme Executive for Spirituality Latin America and the Caribbean.

Plus a variety of workshops exploring what 'reconstrucing mission' means in practical terms around the world, worship from the worldwide church, crèche, full children's programme, Saturday evening event, bookstall and excellent company among others with a heart for God's mission globally.

To book, first read the accommodation, instructions and rates pages and then download, print out and fill in the booking form and send it, together with your cheque to Philip Scribbins (address on the form), or, alternatively contact Philip Scribbins directly (Tel: +44(0)1442 823202).
