Church Environment GroupThe Church Environment Group is formed from a group of like minded people who share an interest in their impact, and the church’s impact, on the environment. We don’t have any formal aims or agenda but I think the phrase ‘To inform and challenge ourselves and the wider congregation about environmental issues’ pretty much sums up what we try to do. As a group: we meet regularly (on average 3 to 4 times a year), we aim to lead or organise a service once a year, we write articles for the Newsletter and we try to gently prod ourselves and the church (via Church Council) into being more environmentally responsible. Our meetings are very informal. Sue Beatty tries to keep us in order and reminds us what we said we’d do last time we met and then we share anything we think might be of interest to the rest of the group. For example, interesting books and films, what’s been mentioned on the television or radio recently, interesting websites to visit etc. Often someone will think of something practical to do so then we discuss how best to get it done. If you would like join us then you would be most welcome. Our next meeting is: Tuesday 9 October, 7:45pm at 9 Stiles Avenue. Why not put it in your diary now! Contact: Sue Beatty |
