What's Been Going On...
9-15 May 2009 Holiday at Goddards House with our extended family. A full page of pictures has been put up here.

2 January 2009 El gave birth to baby Emilia, known as Millie, at home on Friday morning.
Christmas 2008 Andrew's mum Dorothy is spending a month with us over Christmas, and enjoying some time with Rosie. Check out more on this page from Christmas Day, and Rosie's page.
7-14 September 2008 Our holiday in Pembrokeshire.
16th August 2008 We had a BBQ for our friends and their families, which was a great success despite the dubious weather forecast.

19th May 2008 No bird cam this year, but I did catch the great tits fledging from the nest box today! See the story in a series of movie clips here.
18th February 2008 Rosie's first birthday. Check out the news and pictures.
10th February 2008 Phil and El's 30th Birthday. On Saturday Phil and El spend a relaxing day at Henlow Grange spa, on Sunday Phil had a murder dinner party for her friends. The theme was 1920s and each person was given a different character, hence the dressing up.

11-13 January 2008 Weekend away in Aldeburgh. Rosie's version of the holiday and photos can be found here.
25th December 2007 Our first Christmas with Rosie (see the pictures here or on Rosie's page).

21-23rd November 2007 Phil went to Athens for a meeting. First time away for 2 nights since Rosie was born, but no worries. Phil also got a couple of hours to visit the Parthenon.

28th September 2007 The new bathroom is finally completed.

11-12 November 2006 Phil and Andrew enjoyed a romantic weekend in Paris - a last holiday before the baby arrives. See all the photos here.

14-15 October 2006 The 940th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings was marked with the largest battle re-enactment ever held in the UK, at the site of the battle itself. Phil took part as a Norman archer. Check out Andrew's pictures here, and some other good online galleries (1,2,3). There was even a picture of Phil in The Times!

28 May 2006 Dad's sixtieth birthday party, also conveniently close to his retirement to make the occasion all the more special. I have put some pictures here.
23 April 2006 Returned from four weeks in Australia (see some photos here). The frogspawn is now healthy tadpoles, plus blue tits and great tits are nesting in the garden (see the Bird Cam page).
March 2006 Our pond we dug in summer 2004 is now the home to six lots of frogspawn. Lets hope for lots of frogs later in the summer.

18th September 2005 Phil and Andrew visit Buckingham Palace and watch changing of the guard. Check out the pictures.
5th June 2005 Phil spent two sunny days in Genoa for a Marstruct meeting.

5th April 2005 Andrew is now a British Citizen (though still an Aussie too)! This is us at his citizenship ceremony at the Shire Hall, Cambridge.

March 2005 Phil and Andrew spent 3 or 4 (respectively) weeks in the USA. Two weeks were our holiday driving up the East Coast from Miami to Boston, where we visited the Everglades (FL), Kennedy Space Center (FL), Savannah (GA), Pawley's Island (SC), Raleigh (NC), Colonial Williamsburg (VA), New York (NY), and Boston (MA).

17-20 September 2004 Phil & Andrew, El & Tim plus friends spent the weekend in East Grinstead, Sussex. Here is El & Phil at the Winnie the Pooh bridge, and the Landmark Trust house we stayed in.
November 15th 2003 Phil graduated with her PhD.
October 18th 2003 we have bought our own house in Trumpington. It has a garden, three bedrooms, and is convenient for work for both of us.

August 9th 2003 El's wedding! The ceremony took place in Cambridge, check out some photos here, or go to El's wedding page.
August 7th Phil had her PhD viva (two months after submission), and has only minor corrections for her final thesis for hard back binding. :)
August 2-6th Phil and Andrew went to Trondheim in Norway, and Phil presented a paper at the 9th NOLAMP conference. Check out Andrew's Norway pictures
July 12-14th Phil and Andrew spent a long weekend in Northumberland, having some time being tourists as well as Phil doing a Viking show. You can see some pictures here.
May 25-28th Phil attended JOM-11 conference on the Joining of Materials in Denmark. She also found some time to see the sights of Copenhagen too.

On April 14th 2003 Andrew ran the London Marathon in 6 hours 18 mins. The sponsorship money that he raises will go to the Rosie Maternity Hospital, Cambridge.
