| Simon was one of the few British born
players to make it to Superleague level. Although small, his aggressive nature saw him
through. It has also left him carrying the mantle of Panther's alltime highest penalty
minutes earner and suffer more injuries than were due. Simon had a testimonial game in his
honour on 7th Dec 99, when a host of old Panthers turned out. At the time he was suffering
what seemed perennial knee problems and he missed most of the remainder of the season
after surgery. When 99/2000 came around, Simon was not impressed with the contract offered
and he didn't see out the season, curtailing his 12 year career with the Panthers. In one
memorable game, against the Murrayfield Racers in an Autumn Cup semi-final, Simon scored 6
