| Joined Panthers at the start of 85/86 season, after being surprisingly not re-signed by
Durham Wasps (262 points in 61 games) to partner Jimmy Keyes. This was the beginning of
Panthers most successful period since the reformation. Although not gaining any trophies
Panthers with not insubstantial influence of Crapper scored some notable victories. A
memorable 10-2 victory over high flyers Murrayfield Racers springs to mind. The photo
catches Craps in usual fashion unleashing a fearsome slap shot, which with great regularity
flew over the opposing goalies despairing mitt. He was released shortly after the start of
season 86/87. Although his average was slightly down from the previous year, he had been
playing pretty well. The replacement on offer, Fred Perlini, had a pedigree which Alex
Dampier felt was too impressive to pass up, hence Jamie's release. He went to Solihul
after his release, going on to become "Hockey Supremo" with new boys Bracknell
Bees. After his playing days were over he went on to become a "Stripey". |
