Tina is an artist living and practicing in Kettering, England, originally from Dorking in Surrey.  Her work is displayed in private collections in Europe and America.  She uses traditional artists oil paint as her main painting medium.

“The scope of oil paint fascinates me, plus I adore the smell of pure turpentine and linseed oil.  I enjoy stretching, sizing and priming my own canvases and preparing boards and panels too.  I’m not too keen on the smell of rabbits skin glue though!”

“I’ve been preoccupied with light and form since my childhood of the 60’s in Surrey.

ABOUT

Favourite quote:

“The art of pictorial creation is so complicated - it is so astronomical in its possibilities of relation and combination that it would take an act of super-human concentration to explain the final realization.”

Hans Hofmann

Gradually my sense of colour and form has become detached from purely physical description and I now paint freely and independently towards abstraction.

Observation, memory, and imagination are my starting points which I try to capture together in the paint and on the painting surface”.
