Swinton and Pendlebury first established links with Lünen in 1966 when a partnership was agreed between both
towns. Since that time an annual exchange between young people has been arranged and many hundreds of
teenagers have enjoyed holidays in both Salford and Lünen.

Die Partnerschaft zwischen Swinton and Pendlebury und Lünen wurde in 1966 gegründet. Seit diese Zeit wurde
jährlicher Austausch zwischen jungen Leuten arrangiert und viele hunderte Teenager haben den Urlaub in Salford
als auch in Lünen genossen.

Our aim is to introduce as many people as possible throughout both our communities, we would like as many
groups, clubs, companies, small firms, associations, (both professional and amateur), youth and retired groups,
leisure and hobby groups, to contact us and we will try to put them in touch with a similar group in Lünen.

Unser Ziel ist so viele Leute wie möglich von unseren beiden Gemeinschaften zusammenzubringen. Gruppen,
Treff, Gesellschaften, kleine Firmen, Verbände, (Profis und Amateure), Jugend- und Rentnergruppen, Freizeit-
und Hobby- gruppen sollen sich bei uns melden und wir werden versuchen sie mit einer ähnlichen Gruppe in
Lünen b.z.w. Salford in Kontakt zu bringen.

The Town Twinning Committee of Swinton and Pendlebury (Salford) consists of local people, who come from all
parts of the City of Salford. We are independent of the local authority although we work closely with the Town
Twinning Officer, we are given facilities for meetings and we can apply for a grant each year to help with our

Der Partnerschaftsausschuß von Swinton and Pendlebury besteht aus ortsansässigen Leuten die aus allen
Gebieten der Stadt Salford kommen. Wir sind eine freiwillige Organisation, unabhängig von der Stadt Salford und
trotzdem arbeiten wir eng mit dem Beamten der Stadtpartnerschaft zusammen. Wir bewerben uns jedes Jahr um
eine finanzielle Unterstützung und machen auch selbst Veranstaltungen damit wir Geld verdienen können
