| Robins Take All Three Points At Plainmoor |
 |
02-01-2002 Only one match survived the artic conditions that have hit Britain in recent weeks in Division Three and that was at our beloved Plainmoor. Unfortunatly The Gulls were not able to take the opportunity to ease their relegation worries as The Robins left Plainmoor after winning 1-0. Lee Williams second half strike was enough to lift The Robins into the play-off zone whilst The Gulls could now go bottom if the sides below them win their games in hand. The last three games had promised much for The Gulls but yesterday undone all the hard work in those matches. |

Gulls Face Robins At Plainmoor |
31-12-2001 The Gulls will take on Cheltenham Town tomorrow at Plainmoor in their first match of the new year. The Gulls were without a match on Saturday after their clash at Carlisle United fell foul to the artic conditions that have hit large parts of Britain in recent weeks. The Gulls will now face the prospect of a midweek trip to Cumbria, but more pressing concerns are the match against The Robins who The Gulls have failed to beat since their entry into the football league. A late equaliser at Whaddon Road earlier in the season prolonged the wait for a victory against the West Counrty rivals. Victory tomorrow would be a good start to 2002. |

| Match Postponement Frustrates Gulls Fans |
 |
29-12-2001 The Gulls league match at Carlisle United fell foul to the winter weather yesterday when it was called off just after the 11am pitch inspection. The late decision frustrated many Gulls fans who had to leave much earlier than the inspection time in order to arrive in time for the match either by coach or train. Roy McFarland backed the decision to call the match off when the pitch was inspected, and Chairman Mike Bateson felt the blame for the Gulls fans frustration should lay at the feet of the FA for scheduling such a trip at such an unpredicatble time of year. The match will now take place in the New Year but no date as yet has been set. |

Gulls Make Long Trip North - MATCH OFF |
28-12-2001 - MATCH POSTPONED The Gulls made the long trek north today to Carlisle United hopeful that their match against The Cumbrians will be able to go ahead tomorrow. The Gulls have picked up 3 draws in their last three games away at Lincoln & Plymouth and at home to Oxford United. Better finishing in those games could have seen a higher points total, but tomorrow is a fresh challenge. The Gulls can improve their position further if they can overcome bottom club Carlisle United, whose Boxing Day game was called off, in a real six pointer at Brunton Park tomorrow afternoon. |

 |
27-12-2001 The Gulls earnt a welcome if unexpected point yesterday in the Devon Derby clash with Plymouth Argyle at Home Park. The Gulls could even have won the match, but the draw was all the more creditable due to the fact that The Gulls came back from 2-0 down away to the league leaders in order to earn a point. The capacity 13,677 fans that were at Home Park, amongst which were 1,500+ Gulls fans saw Graham Coughlan and Ian Stonebridge put The Argyle 2-0 up early in the 2nd half.
