RADYR & MORGANSTOWN WI

meet in Radyr Old Church Rooms, on the first Monday of the month, at 7.30pm

Radyr has had three banners since its formation in 1957.

(No picture available of the first one)

The second banner depicts the river, together with old and new housing in the village. The tree stump is reputed to be the one to which was attached the chain across the old toll road, from which Radyr Chain takes its name. It was designed by Eileen Watkins, and made by Elizabeth Hopkins, Eleanor Pate, Mrs Day and Mary Pearce.

The third banner also portrays the chain, and the old tree stump, which now stands at the entrance to The Old Church Rooms, where the WI meets. It was designed by Jean Hooker, and made by Mary Thompson and Mary Pearce
