The Cardiff Model Railway Exhibition is run by a group of six local model railway clubs based in Cardiff . The annual exhibition includes layouts from each of these clubs along with half a dozen or more guest layouts. Traders and preservation societies are also well represented.

2008 was a special year for the exhibition as it was the last and 21st to be managed by Mike Bird. He was presented with a bottle of his favourite tipple to mark the occasion.
