What are Town Pastors?
Town Pastors, working in pairs, wearing bright distinctive jackets and headgear, are Christian volunteers from local churches who are out in the town centre of Felixstowe most Saturday nights being a positive influence on the streets and providing help and support to vulnerable people.
In addition there is the prayer team: some pray at the base in town and others pray at home.
What do Town Pastors do
on an evening out?
They provide a positive influence in the town - backed by prayer. Help may range from giving dehydrated people some water to drink, assisting people to get a taxi or a lift, waiting with vulnerable people, help to defuse potentially-difficult situations situations, and work with other agencies to promote safety.
