What is Precision Simulator?
Precision Simulator, "PS1" for short, is the first commercially available true heavy jet
simulator for the Personal Computer.
It's the first procedure trainer utilizing the power of a modern PC to provide everything
in one unit simultaneously: FMC familiarization, complete AFDS mode logic simulation,
EFIS based IFR training, concentration training with ATC, aircraft system familiarization with,
just to name a few, Electrical, Hydraulics, Fuel Distribution, EICAS interactions, Pneumatics,
and MUCH more...
PS1 does not belong to the group of "landscape" simulators. The main target of PS1 is to provide
an alive and TRUE COCKPIT scenery for the 747-400, with hundreds of moveable switches, accurately
working indications, as well as a true aircraft simulation and an unrestricted world-wide flying
area.
PS1 is aiming at airline/ATPL schools/courses as a completion to the existing "static" training
devices and "wall posters". Pilots and students, as well as air traffic controllers, aircraft
mechanics etc. can use PS1 for at home practice to remain proficient or just to play "what if"
in front of a fully functioning cockpit, with all aircraft systems running in REAL TIME.
Finally, PS1 is also a distinguished challenge for flight simulation enthusiasts who want to
test their skills to the maximum limits. PS1 contains a detailed and clearly illustrated
200-pages 744 Operations Manual (English).

What's New in 1.3 - a brief summary of the upgrades!
Complete Autopilot / Flight Director mode logic and accurate Thrust Management System.
Simulation of the entire 744 FMC: HOLD, VNAV, FORECAST, OFFPATH DES, FIX INFO, All INIT/REF pages, LEGS, RTE DATA, WINDS, ROUTE 1 & 2, DEP/ARR, PROGRESS, etc. All pages are fully functioning.
IFR Training on “glass”. All EFIS symbols are being generated, e. g. Trend Vector, Energy Management Circles, Offset Route, Fix Info etc., incl. Failure Flags.
Highly precise Systems Simulations: Hydraulics, Electrical, Fire & Ice Protection, Gear & Flight Controls incl. alternate controls, Doors, EEC, IRS incl. alignment simulation and drift errors, Fuel System Management, Pneumatics, etc.
Random or user defined malfunction scenarios.
Fully functioning EICAS message logic with hundreds of alert, memo & status messages.
Secondary EICAS: All Synoptics & Displays.
Video recorder/player: Training videos may be created! Text bars and sounds can be added.
TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System) with authentic Resolution & Traffic Advisories. External traffic can be simulated to demonstrate the various TCAS sounds and symbols.
GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System).
The simulator can be switched to specific airline configurations. This affects engine types (GE, RR, P&W), fuel system, hydraulics and other aircraft systems, also EFIS/EICAS symbols (Cross-Bar or V-Bar Flight Director, TDZ etc.), GPWS sounds, as well as copilot call-outs.
Highly accurate aerodynamics simulation. Exact 744 pitch/power/path and fuel flow ratios etc.
Weather generator: Fog, CBs, rain, windshears/microbursts, volcanic ash, ice and more.
Flying area is the entire world (ca. 1500 runways).
Navaid & airway world database by Swissair.
Semi-random ATC model: Pushback, vectors, step climb & descent clearances, holdings etc. Different accents, recorded by real controllers.
User programable ATC vectors scenarios.
Copilot Simulations: Specific checklists & calls, recorded by 744 pilots of different airlines.
Analysis functions: Take-off & approach profiles, and zoom-able track plotting across the world.
Data output for external add-on programs.
Comprehensive Operations Manual (English, 350 pages, robust glossy paper in sturdy wire binding).
From PS1.2 - also available to you!
Navaid Editor (access to the complete data base, also adding new stations possible).
Airport Editor (however no rwy adding and no rwy coord changes possible).
"Jump-To-Waypoint" function for time acceleration.
"Move-Airplane-To-Rwy-Threshold" function.
Laptop keyboard elevator control added.
Roll rate limit adjusted for "over-sensitive" joysticks (handling much better!).
Ground effect improved, also more force on the yoke required during takeoff and flare.
Climb rate at high altitudes adjusted.
Turn radius at high speeds corrected.
"Power curve" near Low Speed Buffet at high altitudes simulated.
Idle Thrust Stop higher for Anti-Ice and Go-Around.
FLCH Climb Thrust adjusted.
Less tire drag, less thrust required to maintain taxi speed.
More intelligent Auto throttle operation during Go-Around.
Autoland system "overhauled".
Windmilling: 15-20% N2 keeps systems running.
