Leilani's success began after being
persuaded to audition for the Miss Great Britain pageant
by a doorman who spotted her eating an ice-cream outside
the Hippodrome club in Leicester Square. Leilani beat 19
other hopefully to win the round, before going on to win
the title in 1998, becoming the first girl of Asian decent
to hold the title. She then went on to represent the
country in Hawaii at the finals of the Miss Universe
contest.
She managed to cause a bit of a minor
scandal when her photo's - with nothing but a feather
duster covering her assets - appeared in top-shelf men's
magazine Mayfair while she was still the reigning Miss GB.
As far as Leilani was aware, the pictures were for Loaded
or a similar style of magazine and she was a little upset
when she was accused of bringing the Miss GB title into
disrepute.
The half-English/half-Filipina beauty - who
has ten GCSE's plus two As and a B at A-level - had
originally planned to become a city trader but gave up
studying for a degree in economics at London's Royal
Holloway College to become one of the UK's favorite
glamour girls, winning the hearts of many a Sun and Daily
Star reader
Although Leilani was not initially keen on the idea
of becoming a glamour model, she quickly gained in
confidence and has now become one of the most popular Page 3
girls ever. Many doors have opened for her, including
appearances in various magazines and calenders, modelling a
whole range of sexy lingerie for the new Anne Summer's
catalogue and TV adverts for Coca Cola and Impulse among
others.
Leilani made regular appearances on Channel 4's The Big
Breakfast untill the show ended it's run in 2002, and she
has also appeared in a special Page 3 edition of the BBC
quiz show 'The Weakest Link' where she finished second to
Jakki Degg after going head-to-head with Jakki, Zoe
McConnell, Jo Lawden, Jamelah Asmar, Dee Ivens, Nicola
McLean, Ruth Highman and Ruth Gordon.
Leilani has just finished filming her first acting role for
Sky televisions raunchy new drama series 'Mile High' --
about the lives and loves of a group of air stewards and
stewardesses -- where she makes a cameo appearance as the
girlfriend of one of the stewards. Leilani is also the first
- and only - girl to have appeared topless on British
daytime TV when she took part in a medical feature about
Breast cancer awareness during a live broadcast of the "Richard
and Judy show".
Leilani has many ambitions for the future,
including making many more television appearances and she
hopes to eventually pursue a career in television
presenting.
Leilani has been dating Wimbledon FC's Mark
Williams since the break-up of her year long relationship
with footballer Anwar Udden following his transfer to
Bristol City. She has also been linked to the England
player Kieran Dyer.
