Castle Lock
A view of Castle Lock from under the Wilford Sreet Bridge over the Nottingham Canal. The canal was built for the purpose to link Nottingham to Langley Mill, and connect the local coal mining areas, and to cut distance and effort of hauling coal over land. The first stretch was opened in 1793 linking the River Trent to the city centre of Nottingham. and sadly there is not much more than that left this day.
