The new owner decided he wanted the engine to re-appear as it might have been had Fowlers built it as a showman’s engine, so the smoke box, and dynamo platform, were made to the Fowlers drawings.( the old parts were completely rotten any how).
The coalbunker crane tower was also dispensed with. The tower was an Openshaw part and bolted on to the coalbunker. As the existing coalbunker was rotten, a new one was made, again to the Fowler drawings. We do still have the crane tower and if it were ever decided, it could go back on, but that would not have been as Fowlers made it, and that is how the new owner wanted it to be.
