In the early nineteen seventies the engine changed hands yet again and moved to Bedfordshire. A complete rebuild was in order, and she was stripped right down and, with lots of willing helpers, was rebuilt over a period of seven years. Nothing was left undone; if the engine needed it she got it. Around that time, Mr. Jack Wharton had recently completed the rebuilding of the final Fowler Showman’s engine SUPREME. No. 20223.

The new owner of the engine was friendly with lack Wharton and several visits were made to measure bits and pieces on Supreme, also Mr. Wharton had most of the original blue prints for Supreme which proved invaluable during the restoration. Although there is eighteen years between the two engines, and Supreme is a Super Lion, the only real difference is that supreme has 1eft hand steering otherwise lots of parts and the general build are identical.
