Stellar* Live In London Shepherds Bush Empire
On The 30th September 2002 i had the opportunity to attend the first ever performance from Stellar* in the UK who were playing with another top NZ band The Feelers. I had arranged to meet up with friends Andy from the Thompson Twins website Passion Planet and Geoff another long time Twins fan and creator of the Information Network a series of newsletters to promote the Thompson Twins and other related bands such as Bic Runga and Stellar* who are produced by Tom Bailey. We were too early for the gig at the Shepherds Bush empire so decided to wait outside. We happened to bump into Stellar* in the Street who were making their way to a Taxi we got introduced to them and when Geoff introduced me to the band as Peter before i could say anything else Andrew the drummer replied What Peter Finnegan!. Soon as he had heard first name he realized who i was as he had seen and recognized my name from their message board were i frequently post. Stellar* were amazed when i told them i was from Scotland they thought i had came a long way to seem them. They band had to go so they told us they would see us later. The gig was amazing Boh and all the guys from the band gave a stellar performance and they belted out all their hits upbeat songs like Star and Imperfect sounded great live and were well received by the crowd and Part Of Me which had the audience all singing along. Halfway through as Boh was thanking various people she announced I'd like to give a big thank you to Geoff Andy and Peter. She said Peter has came all the way from Scotland to see us to which the crowd cheered then she dedicated the song Taken to us. Afterwards we got to meet them and they signed our cds and posed for photos. We found them all to be really nice and obliging. The gig was all i had hoped and expected it to be this is a talented group of musicians with catchy songs who deserve to go a long way in the UK. If you ever have the chance i would recommend you go see this band they
are definitely worth checking out. Here are the pictures from the event.
