Relay for Life for Cancer Research UK.

One Step Forward took part in this years Relay for Life event at Ascot Racecourse. This event included a twenty-four hour sponsored walk to raise money for Cancer Research UK. There was plenty to do for all the family and lots of entertainment including a display from the One Step Forward Line Dance Club.

The public were invited to join in the dances (pics available), which they promptly did, resulting in much fun and laughter for all the participants and everybody watching.

A huge thank you to all the club members who gave up their Saturday afternoon to help with the demonstration.

Daffodil Dance for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

One Step Forward hosted our second Daffodil Dance event (pics available) to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The Daffodil Dance this year was called Blusher. It was choreographed by Kate Sala to Shania Twain's Whatever You Do! Don't!.

The total raised on the night was £230. Huge thanks go to everybody who attended, and to those who couldn't but made a donation anyway. Thanks also to everybody who donated raffle prizes.

Another huge thank you goes to Bibby Financial Services, Slough. Daffodil pin badges were sold to the employees and the company generously matched the amount raised making a total of £120.

There still seems to be money trickling in all the time, so watch this space. Grand total raised so far for this year is £350.

Great Hollands 40th Anniversary fun day.
This was a special day for the whole community to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the Great Hollands estate. Held in the grounds of Great Hollands Primary school there were plenty of things for the whole family to do and see.

Not lacking in community spirit One Step Forward Line Dance Club threw themselves into the mix. We had two displays in the gym (it was rather damp outside after all), one with the regular class members and one with the children of Great Hollands Primary School. Both went down very well. We also had a small stall to tell as many people as possible just how great line dancing really is!

All in all, despite the largely inclement weather, the day was a success and everybody seemed to have a really good time. Now we just need to get ready for the next one in 2047.

One Step Forward celebrated its first anniversary.
It doesn't seem possible, but One Step Forward Line Dance Club has been in existence for a whole year now. A huge thank you goes to everybody who has supported the club.

A special social evening (pics available) was held to celebrate the occasion..

Everybody got in line and Daffodil Danced to raise money for Cancer Care!
This special social evening (pics available) saw the One Step Forward Line Dance Club join forces with Line Dance clubs across the country to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. This year the annual Great Daffodil Appeal included the opportunity to dance the Daffodil Dance. This dance was specially choreographed by Mary James, just for the appeal, to Charlie Landsborough's new hit, 'Someone is Looking for Someone Like You'.

Everybody who attended the evening and danced the Daffodil Dance made a donation to the appeal. There was also a raffle, many of the prizes also donated by people attending the dance. All in all, everybody had a wonderful time and managed to raise an impressive £220 at the same time. One Step Forward would like to thank everybody who attended and supported the appeal for this very worthwhile cause.

Marie Curie Cancer Care provide high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families. The £5 million target for the Great Daffodil Appeal 2007 will help provide nursing for more people with terminal cancer.
