In the heart of the Middle East Jordan's economy has faced the problems of regional instability and the need to accommodate a very large influx of homeless Palestinians.

Project

In 2001 we created for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) a Handbook, to allow National Experts to identify and implement opportunities to Improve the competitiveness of SME Food Manufacturers. The Handbook encompassed (Strategic and Tactical Management, Productivity, Quality and Cleaner Production).

We then piloted a capacity building programme, utilising the techniques in the handbook with a team of International and National Experts (Process Improvement, Cleaner Production and Quality) that identified in excess of $1.4M of opportunities for a group of 9 Small\Medium sized Enterprises. Rated by Ministry of Trade as most successful initiative they were currently involved with.
 

The programme was part of UNIDO's integrated programme for Jordan.
