Chicken Chow Mein |
Serves 4
· 225g (8oz) chicken breast, cut into thin strips · 1 packet Sharwood's medium egg noodles · 1 packet fresh bean sprouts · 1 225g tin bamboo shoots · 1 red pepper, seeded and cut into thin strips · 100g (4oz) button mushrooms, sliced · 1 medium onion, peeled and sliced · 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped (optional) · 3 tablespoons light soy sauce · 1 teaspoon pure sesame oil
Boil egg noodles according to instructions on the packet, drain and reserve.
Dry-fry the chicken breast until slightly browned, remove from the pan and keep to one side.
Dry-fry the onion and garlic for 1 minute, add the bamboo shoots, red pepper, mushrooms and fry for 2 minutes.
Return the chicken to the pan, add the soy sauce, sesame oil, bean sprouts and egg noodles, stir-fry for 2 minutes. Serve immediately. |
