Active Spoiler
Operation:
The speed signal from the odometer (T7 pin 6, PINK wire) drives the speed input to the active spoiler circuitry.
The active spoiler operates in the following speed range.
90KPH, if AUTO SPOILER is ON the spoiler is deployed 5 seconds after 90KPH is reached.
Should you be accelerating between 90KPH and 120KPH the spoiler is deployed 0.1 seconds after the 120KPH threshold is reached.
When the speed drops below 65 KPH the auto spoiler is parked.
How to modify it to get it to work properly with the speedo and odo mods...
The active spoiler CU is behind the Stereo.
It sits behind the ABS control unit (CU) which normally sits on
top of the stereo housing.
Take the dash apart and remove the stereo.
Behind you'll find a box bolted towards the back at the bottom.
Unplug the single connector and cut the wire going to pin ??
(it's definitely the pink one with asilver band)
Join the KPH back into here. (I ran a wire spliced onto the input
to my speedo converter (the KPH signal) back down the short
distance to the ActiveSpoiler Control Unit.)
Be careful not to join the KPH signal too far back up the wiring
loombecause at some point it splits to feed the ECU and you want
to keep thatbeing MPH for your speed limiter.
It's best to do it at the connector.
Hey Presto a working Spolier.
Observations:
For those that have got the odometer
modded to read in MPH the spoiler will active at 90MPH.
BUT BUT BUT BUT!!!!!
If you follow my conversion schematic
then you too can get the spoiler working at the correct speeds.
For those without any Odometer mod (Speedo change is
irrelevant) the spoiler will active at 90KPH as normal. However
you will more than likely have problems with the cruise control
limiting to 180kph (approx 112mph)
AGAIN! If you follow my conversion
schematic you can remove the speed limiter and get the
spoiler to work properly and read in Miles.
