Fishing |
A nice linear mirror Carp, caught from a local day ticket water. A definate double but I forgot the scales! I was using 6lb monofilament with a sliding quarter ounce leger, a size 16 barbless hook and two red maggots. |
A nice local Pike, taken on legered sprat during winter. This was five days before Christmas at a local river and was the biggest taken in a short five hour session. Again approaching a double in weight. |
Believe me! They do get smaller than this. |
A wild or common Carp. Taken from another local day ticket water using "The Method". Not huge but wild or common Carp are not as common as their name implies. |
Weather |
This glorious photo was taken less than 400 yrds from my back yard using an ancient
Zenith Photo-Sniper outfit. See coolstuff. This was bought for £40 from a second hand shop. No filters were used. Most of the festival photo`s in coolstuff were taken using this outfit. |
Same tree, same angle, same camera. These shots were taken six months apart. I have lived here for over thirty years but the way the landscape changes with the seasons is amazing. |
The end of a day long thunder storm. This photo combines a lot I love about Nature. The unpredictability, the ferocity and the beauty. Taken looking South from my back yard. |
Astronomy |
This is a picture of the spiral galaxy Messier 83. Taken by David Malin. Astronomy is the most weather dependant of hobbies. Remember the 1999 total solar eclipse? I rode down to Bodmin moor to watch it and it rained! Light pollution dosn`t help either! Clear skies. |
Most of my interests are effected by the weather to a certain extent. I curse the rain when I`m 20 miles from home riding in the teeth of a storm. But when the fish are reluctant to bite a sudden shower can create activity. These are just some of my interests I felt it would be worth including on my website. Others..... many, varied and some possibly illegal. |
II thought this was going to be my first funnel cloud! Taken from my back garden on 05/08/03 at 20.20 BST. It was a nice lowering but never touched down. |
Another impressive lowering taken during a short storm chase in Northants on 27/08/04. This,as far as I could see, failed to touch down however the view of the base was blocked by the trees so I might have missed it. |
