About Non-NTT Japanese Chip Phonecards

Two companies are known to sell modular-type chip cards, but for international calls only:
- ITJ: At least fifteen cards were issued, two of them with the same design but different dates (A002)
- KDD: Gemplus is the actual provider.
Only a few places in Tokyo (and even less in the rest of Japan) are equipped with the appropriate telephone booths. I personally know of only five. This is one reason why it is extremely difficult to get these cards, even in Tokyo.
