I grew up in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney,
and love trekking and hiking in the wilderness. My other interests include sports (squash, hockey,
cricket), archæology, history,
the legends of King Arthur and languages.
I am fluent in both Australian and English (or so I'm told), and have been speaking Japanese for several years. I also speak German at an intermediate level, as well as a smattering of Chinese (Mandarin). I also dabble in a bit of programming using languages such as Fortran, C and Perl.

For relaxation I enjoy reading fantasy and historical novels, as well as listening to music by artists such as Sting, Annie Lennox, Billy Joel, Clannad
and Enya. I have been collecting stamps for many
years, and also have a large collection of phonecards from around the world. In fact, some years ago I took over as webmaster of the Internet Phonecard Trading Page, a collection of links to collectors, dealers and anything to do with phonecards on the web.
