Ripley is just off the A3 one mile south (towards Guildford) of junction 10 of the M25.
The Talbot Hotel is in the High Street on the left as you enter the village. There is parking in the hotel car park or on the village green opposite.

Walk Information:
Ripley is a traditional picturesque Surrey village sitting on the old Portsmouth Road which was once an important staging post for coaches passing between London and Portsmouth.
Today with its many quaint buildings, period cottages, antique shops, pubs and restaurants makes this a very desirable residence and well worth a visit alone.
Lying hidden behind the High Street is Surrey's largest village green where cricket has been played for over 200 years.

The walk is about 2.5 miles long, totally flat with no stiles.
With breathtaking scenery along the Wey Navagation canal, some very interesting old buildings and without a doubt some of Surrey's finest countryside, makes this a walk not to be missed.

The Talbot Hotel is a 15th century coaching inn, boasting low ceilings, old beams and plenty of atmosphere. From the pumps come Green King IPA, Flowers, Boddingtons and TEA from the Hog's Back Brewery.
Food is served in Anthony's restaurant between 12-3 pm. There is a good choice including traditional Sunday lunch, booking is essential ( 01483 225188)

Stage I
Leave the pub and turn left walking along the High Street for about 100m passed the Half Moon pub. Then turn right onto a lane that leads passed additional parking and the cricket green on your right. Stage after passing the cricket green.

Stage II
Continue on this lane as it runs along the edge of the green with buildings on your left, stage ends at the end of the lane.

Stage III
Veer left onto a narrower path soon crossing Ockham millstream. After passing a house on your right veer left and continue with fields on both sides until reaching a stile just before a bridge where stage ends.

Stage IV
Cross the bridge and follow the path crossing the river, veer right onto the tow path for about ½ a mile, stage ends at a post with yellow arrows. (approx 150m before next bridge)

Stage V
Turn right at the post leaving the tow path into woods, shortly crossing a wooden bridge, maintain direction eventually reaching a gate with a stile next to it, where stage ends.

Stage VI
Continue through the gate onto a gravel drive, veer left passing the mill and continue along a lane for about 200m. Turn right at a path with 2 posts leading into woods. Stage ends at 2nd wooden bridge.

Stage VII

Cross the bridge and continue straight ahead into woods, soon arriving at the back of the green. Stay on the path maintaining the same direction, passing several benches, walk ends when you reach the lane.

Turn left and follow the lane back to the High Street, turn left and the pub is 100m on the right.
