Anna and Peter volunteered to assist with the Commonwealth Games in Manchester 2002, and were recruited as drivers for Crew 2002. Peter was assigned to Team Malta and was based in the Athletes' Village in Fallowfield, while Anna's role was to provide "a very high standard VIP taxi service" and she was based at GMEX in the City Centre.
There was a wonderful friendly spirit in Manchester during the games. Here are our photographic mementos of those days.

Peter took some views of the Athlete's Village and Salford Quays. Meanwhile Anna covered the drivers' area at GMEX, and the rehearsal for the Opening Ceremony (a rather damp evening).
Every volunteer was invited to decorate a small fabric square and donate a passport sized photo. These were collected and made into a wonderful tapestry.
Finally, all the volunteers were invited to a 'thank you' party in Platt fields.
