Scubysnaps!

Marsa Alam....from Port Ghalib

Lionfish at Marsa Mubarak

We went here in May 2009, and stayed at Marina Lodge, Port Ghalib, surprisingly quiet for whit week (its not even a one camel town!), and nothing much else to do here apart from dive dive dive, so it suited me down to the ground, Lisa had plenty of time to sunbathe and read her book collection, so we were both like pigs in mud! I dived 5 out of the 6 days we were there. If you do not pay extra to go to Elphinstone, Dolphin House Reef or Abu Dabab they will take you to a local site from 8 til about 4 for 2 or 3 dives, lots of life to be seen locally so dont fret like I did!. Emperor were the sole dive operator here and it was cheaper to book with them in advance, be warned though! they may ask you to turn off your flash on large turtles, sharks and maybe more. Next time I go I would base myself further south, so I could go to Elphinstone more often, as from Port Ghalib it takes about 3 hours to get there.

Stayed here Whit week 2009
