PARKSIDE FOOTBALL CLUB

PLAYER PROFILE

Mark Foxley
Pos: Goalkeeper

One of the longest serving members of Parkside with 14 years behind him.Great shot stopper and dominates his area well. Never under performs.

Steve Fowlie
Pos: Defender

Another Parkside veteran with 14 years service. Can play anywhere in defence and has played in midfield. Solid, reliable and will always give 100%

Chris Matthews
Pos: Defender

Recently given the captains armband which shows how highly thought of Chris is at Parkside. Only 23 and matures with every game. Tall, tough tackling centre half who leads by example.

Chris Thompson
Pos: Midfield

Tough tackling, works hard and is very comfortable on the ball. At the centre of the park and always wants to win. Says its his last season but could go for another 10.

Neil Charters
Pos: Defender

A recent signing from Hornby. His first season at Parkside. Brings with him experience and a calming influence. Great passer of the ball and very organised and disciplined.

Steve Close
Pos: Defender

If asked to play in goal, would do so. Very flexible and very reliable. Deceptively quick and comfortable defending or going forward. A credit to the club.

Graham Irving
Pos: Defender

His second spell at the club and has grown and matured so much. Probably one of those players who is underrated but his teammates appreciate so much. Great tackler and very reliable.

Mark Marriot
Pos: Midfield

Another fairly new Parkside player. Got the potential to be a great asset to the club. Beats defenders as if they're not there. Very quick with a ferocious shot.

Martin Dagnall
Pos: Defender

Enjoyed his second spell at the club last season and brought with him his experience. Very comfortable and very intelligent with the ball and a great leader. Vice Captain.

Keith Giles
Pos: Defender

Not much that Keith hasn't won in amateur football. One of the great centre halves who could play in midfield or as Parkside benefited from last season, can play up front. Great in the air and even better on the ground.

Dennis Duncan
Pos: Midfield

A first season to Parkside from the Speke lad. Makes football look so easy. Passes the ball superbly. Great vision and great engine who gives 100%. Won't be long until he plays a high standard on a Saturday.

Pete Smith (Speedy)
Pos: Midfield

Peter is the player manager who has nearly 15 years experience in the Birkenhead Sunday League. Still one of the quickest and trickiest players around who now uses his brain a bit more as his legs don't work for the full 90 mins !!

Mike Marsden
Pos: Forward

A very quick centre forward who gets better and more confident with every game. Knows where the goal is and when he realises he's better than he thinks he is, he will be a 30 goal a season man.

A new signing for Parkside. A young talent. Very skilful, quick and very intelligent despite his young age. Very fit and works hard.

Anthony Clarkson

Anthony O'Dowd
Pos: Forward

His first season of Birkenhead Sunday Football. Biggest question is why? An unseen great talent. Probably the fastest lad around who gets better and better with each game. Getting more confident and will be a great goal machine.

Michael Kearney
Pos: Midfield

Only 18 years old and a rarity these days. A great left foot with potential to be a great left winger. Very like a young Ryan Giggs, so many tricks and very quick.

A former Tranmere Rovers Youth who could score goals for fun. Very quick, strong and intelligent centre forward whose movement is tremendous. Never gives up and hates to lose.

John O'Dowd
Pos: Forward

A very experienced striker. Strong as an ox and would run and work hard for every second of the 90 minutes. Earned the nickname Goal Machine for that reason.

John Kearney
Pos: Midfield

Brings experience to Parkside. Very comfortable on the ball and with both feet. Still got a lot of skill and very intelligent with his distribution.
