In the name of God amen 28 February 1618 I Ann Waters widow of Swaffham Prior St. Mary's in the county of Cambridge being sick in body, yet of good and perfect remembrance thanks be given to the almighty God therefore, do make and ordain this my last will (revoking all other wills heretofore by me made) in manner and form following.
First I bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty God who first gave it me, nothing doubting of my salvation, only through the merits of Christ Jesus my saviour and redeemer, and my body unto the earth from whence it came.
Item I give unto my son William, two pairs of sheets and pillow beenes, a table cloth, a towell, two napkins, a brass candle stick, and half dozen pieces of pewter. I give unto my daughter Joanne, her children too Ann and Mary 20 shillings apiece to be paid unto them at their full ages of 21 years. I give unto Ann Chambers my daughter child a sheet with a white seam, and blankets, pillow beenes, napkins. And to Mary Chambers a sheet with a dark seam.
Item I give unto my daughter Joane all my wearing linnen for her body.
Item I give twenty shillings to the poor to be distributed at my burial. I give unto my Godson John Waters six shillings eight pence to buy him a ring.
All the rest of my goods of what kind and nature soever I give unto my sons George and Francis whom I do make my sole executors to this my last will they bring my body honestly to the ground.
Memorandum. I give unto my daughter Joane ten shillings to buy her a ring, and after her decease it shall go to Ann her daughter.
Witness to this will we whose names are hereunder written John Chambers and Samuel Norman.
