In the name of God: Amen: The fifteenth day of Aprill in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred fifty and five I Samuell Chambers of Swaffham Prior in the County of Cambridge yeoman being sicke of bodye but of good and perfect minde and memorie (thanks be to Almightie God for it) doe make ordaine institute and apponit this my last wills and testament in manner and forme followinge ffirst I bequeath to my soule into the hands of Almightie God my maker hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ my saviour to have remission of my sinnes And my bodie to be buried in the parishe of Ste Maries accordinge to the disrection of my executors in honest and decent Christian buriall IMPRIMUS I give and bequeath to Robert Chambers my eldest sonne the house which he nowe hath, the last yeares and plowe groundes now in the use and possession of the said Robert Chambers And twelve pounds of lawfull money of England To be paid within one month after my decease ITEM I give and bequeath to Samuell Chambers my grandchild sonne of Robert Chambers fower acres and a roode of arrable lands to the onely use and behoose of the said Samuel Chambers and his heirs for everITEM I give and and bequeath to Mary the wife of Anthony Rowe ffive pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid to the said Anthony within tweleve months after my decease ITEM I give and bequeath to Anthony Rowe my sonne in law the best cowe of the five hundred that are in the farm presentlie after my decease ITEM I give and bequeath unto Anne the wife of Robert Ragness five pounds of like lawfull money of England to be paid five yeares after my decease ITEM I give and bequeath to Richard Chambers my youngest sonne the house which I nowe live in with all and singular the appertenaures there to adjoyninge And one acre of arrable land lying in the Dale field with all my landes and tennements hereby not bequeathed to the onely use and behoose of the said Richard Chambers and his heirs for ever ITEM I give and bequeath to my executors hereafter named the use benefit ? the cropp growing and ffarming of the thirty acres of arrable land belonginge to my sonne Robert and now in my owne occupation and lyinge in the ? all fieldes of Swaffham Prior cum Reach for during the whole six monthes next after my decease All the rest of my goodes and chattles unbequesthed I give to Anne my lovinge wife and Richard my sonne whome I make my joint executors of this my last will and testament paying my debts and legacies, and bringinge my bodie to the ground In witness whereof I have hereunto left my hand and soale the day and year first above written 1656 The mark of Samuell Chambers Sealed and delivered in the presence of us, and these wordes before enter ? betweene the lynes of thirty and thirtye one to witt belongine to my sonne Robert and nowe in my present occupation was underlyned before the ensealing thereof ? that my will and meaning is that if my sonne Robert or any other persons by his ? or ? shall disturbe any of my ex? in the quiett asigment of such landes tennements or goods as by this my last will and testament I have bequesthed or in the due ex? of the same that then the fower acres and a roode of land bequesthed to my grandchild Samuell and his heires shalle and ? to my said sonne Richard and his heires for ever.
