In
the name of God Amen I Robert Chambers of the Hamlet of West Reach in the
township of Swaffham Prior in the county of Cambridge yeoman being of sound and
disposing mind memory and understanding praised be God do make publish and
declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say First
I give devise and bequeath unto my son William Chambers his heirs and assigns
all those my Gang of Lighteur together with the horses lines and other
implements thereunto belonging or commonly used he paying out the sum of one
hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain and interest due thereof to the
mortgage as the same now stands mortgaged for And also I give and devise unto my
son Christopher Chambers his heirs and assigns All that my ffreehold messuage or
tenement and premises thereunto belonging wherein I now dwell and also all that
my three hoods, more or less, or ffreehold of Linch Ground and also all those my
three dolvers of ffreehold ffenn ground together with the sedge ffenn part And
also I give and devise unto my daughter Mary Chambers her heirs and assigns all
those my twelev acres and an half, more or less, of freehold arable land and
also I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Mary Chambers all my ffurniture
as they now stand in the room called the Hall wherein I now dwell together with
one boiler which she likes best one washing kettle one sea kettle all my linen
all my plate all my pewter six knives and six forks my best bed with the
hangings and furniture thereof and my largest oak chest And also all the rest
residue and remainder of my goods chattles rights credits and personal estate
whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever I give and bequeath
unto my son Christopher Chambers he paying out of the same the sum of five
pounds five shillings immediately after my decease unto Ann my now beloved wife
her heirs and assigns and also I hereby strickly charge my personal estate which
I give to my son Christopher Chambers for the permanent of my just debts
ffuneral expenses incident to the execution of this my will and the above
mentioned legacy on him of five pounds five shillings And lastly I do hereby
nominate constitute and appoint my said son Christopher Chambers sole executor
of this my last will and testament bereby revoking all former will and wills by
me heretofore made In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this
ninth day of October One thousand seven hundred and eighty one Robert Chambers
signed sealed published and declared by the said Robert Chambers as and for his
last will and testament In the presence of us who have subscribed our names as
witnesses thereto In the presence of and at the request of him the said testator
